Steps to create Google Chrome Themes
To create Chrome Themes for yourself, you will need to add an extension known as Chrome Theme Creator. This extension will allow you to quickly create and export your own Chrome theme through a simple graphical user interface.
Here are the steps to create your own Chrome theme using the Theme Creator extension:
First, you need to add the Theme Creator extension to Chrome. Navigate to its page, and click on Add to Chrome.
After adding the theme, Chrome will automatically redirect you to the Apps page. Here select Theme Creator.
Now the Theme Creator app will be launched, and you can start customization your Chrome theme.
First, let us start with the basics. Give a name to your Chrome theme from the space provided at the upper-left corner.
Next, click on Upload an Image and choose a high-resolution image for your theme’s background.
After the image is loaded, you will see the preview on the right side. From here, you can also adjust the position of the image with the controlling options available at the bottom.
After finalizing the background image position, click on Generate Colors to automatically create a color scheme for your theme based on the background image you have uploaded. You can see the preview on the right.
If you don’t like the color scheme or want to make some color adjustments, you can switch to the Colors tab and adjust the colors for Toolbar, Tab Text, Background Tab Text, Bookmark Text, NTP Text, NTP Links, Control Buttons, and Buttons. Keep reviewing the changes by seeing the theme preview on the right.
Finally, after making the required adjustments, you can now download the Chrome theme you have created. Switch back to the Basic tab, and click on the third option, Pack and Install. This option will basically create a package of your new theme as a Chrome Extension.
The Chrome Browser will warn you about the file, but you can click on Keep to download it. Don’t worry; it is safe.
